“When I die Dublin will be written in my heart”

James Joyce

Whenever I go abroad I wonder what people see in my fair city…peering up at towering monuments or admiring incredibly intricate architecture, I wonder how little old Dublin can compare to bustling capitals around the world. However, then I realise that what people admire about this gorgeous city is much closer to the ground. Dublin may not have the most impressive skyline but it has much to offer to visitors and us natives alike:

It’s the people, the chatter, the banter,

It’s the cobbles, the red brick, the kaleidoscope of coloured doorways,

It’s the soft green grass, the sea beneath the coastline rails, the gorse-lined cliffs looking over towards Wales,

It’s the history, the literature, the characters that make,

My fair city what it is today.

We can all admit that I’m not quite James Joyce but I’m not sure that he’d be into this blogging thing anyway!
